Observation 169667: Xerocomus subtomentosus (L.) Quél.

Notes: All features match. I only found two specimens, and both were small, I’m not sure if it’s quite well adapted to this weather/soil or something else.

Cap grayish olive brown, stains dark red/redish brown when handled (the stem too). Pores bright yellow. Flesh yellowish almost not bruising blue/green. Stem reticulated near apex (yellowish reticulum that stains redish brown on handling like all the stem), yellowish/white below. Yellowish mycellium. Unusual smell at least initially.
