odor: pleasant in a not unfamiliar way, can’t pick out what it resembles
taste: virtually none, hint of mushroomy

I kind of think this is one of the CA natives, don’t you? Both rosa and madrone are native here.

There was another bush there, I’ll note it when I find what it’s called.

on this obs. not because it is not Pisolithus, but because there needs to be someplace to go when species is determined. Hopefully, a species will be suggested.
