the “proposed fungal barcode” gene (nrITS) and the large subunit gene (nrLSU) from this material. I’m very grateful for you efforts in sending us this material.

Very best,

having good quality and quite consistent with what we are learning to expect from Amanita spreta. The sequences appear to be of particularly good quality. Thank you very much for sending me this material.

Dr. Linas Kudzma did the molecular work on this material, and I am very grateful to him as well.

Very best,

Thanks Eva,

This material has been received and accessioned to Rod’s herbarium. We have scheduled it for DNA sequencing.

I think your ID is a good choice.

I do not have any record of this species for Ontario in my herbarium. If you should dry material of this specie, I’d very much like to have a piece of it if that is possible.

If you dry spreta, it is best to cut the cap into several “pie slices” because the flesh is so much thicker than in the Vaginatae.

Very best,
