is very difficult to separate between very similar ones. I have the same problem here, in winter time; Not even microscopy and a good key (by Noordeloos) helps.

the difference between my E. formosum (look an M.O.)and E. strictius are in the small “sandy” grain an the cap ..

however, you should know that I had found more than 75 different Entoloma
and I can name only ten.

…is a very large genus with many difficult to identify species. Throwing names around with confidence but without a full workup (including microscopy) is unconvincing to say the least.

E. formosum is easily recognized in the field different cap..

looks very much like E. formosum. unfortunately, I don’t know either of the two species.
Your area is definitely a case study for the genus Entoloma.
