Notes: Tan-grey cap with small cracking texture. Grey hue throughout. Purplish stem interior. Hundreds of tiny bugs now in the bag. :)

But the flavor did linger. Maybe it was the cream sauce that carried it a bit further. It wasn’t buggy, though who knows what was hiding in the gills.

You must have a very sensitive and well-developed taste buds. B. pallidus doesn’t do anything for me even when it’s not buggy. :)

Fried it with butter, added to cream sauce over noodles.

Taste was good, a rich and delicate flavor, more persistent than the store-bought button mushrooms.

Very unpleasant mushiness to it, even when fried crispy on the edges. I would try this again blended in a soup.
