Observation 171634: Scutellinia kerguelensis (Berk.) Kuntze
When: 2014-07-28
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found growing on silver maple in space between rotting wood and healthy main body. The lack of forking on hairs and the lack of observable ornamentation push this towards S. kerguelensis for me as opposed to S. umbrarum but it was a hard decision.
