Notes:
Spores: amyloid, ellipsoid, 9-11 × 6-7 um. Basidia 4-spored. No reaction to 5% KOH on cap. Gills marginate (edges composed of yellow hyphae in Melzer’s). Volva completely buried. Cap edge lacerate. Cap cuticle a trichodermium (no universal veil remnants). Stipe: brown floccose scales present, hollow, sheathing white volva present. Flesh: white, bruising brown.
Cap: 2.7 cm across. Stipe: 5 cm long, 7 mm wide.
Under pine in mixed forest.
