I had considered C. gibba.

There’s presently a lot of this type in my local woods. But the spores on this collection are not lacrymoid, which appears to rule out this species.

Gymnopus seems to be the currently dominant genus in my woods. Plenty of G. dryophilus.

Certainly, some other species of Clitocybe is a reasonable proposal. But I don’t know any species that looks like this. So viewing this as an oddly-shaped Gymnopus makes the most sense to me.

I don’t know the genus Callistosporium. Jacob, what is it about this obs that provides you with ultimate negative confidence?

show a purplish tint, which may point toward Callistosporium. Not sure exactly how purple the spores are supposed to become in KOH.
