Used references: Phellinus hartigii currently deprecated(2/15). This location and one other hemlock canopy nearby on TESC campus harbor Western hemlock logs with both Fomitiporia and reishi fruiting within feet of each other on the same substrate. We have encountered this phenomenon in montane hemlocks on both the eastern and western slopes of the cascades, as well.
