Observation 171982: Pleurotus laevis (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Singer

Growing on a log. Bright white spore print. Cap was neither slippery, sticky nor slimy. Pleasant smell.

Has a partial veil. It also has a “frosted” cap when young. Lentinus levis has a much fuzzier stem.

How does one distinguish P. levis…
