Notes: My friend has been hunting mushrooms in this area for 40 years and has never seen this one before.

Recognized by sight: Almost certainly gilled and with soft, non-brittle flesh. Probably close to if not in Marasmius. Giving this name “I’d Call It That Status” to help it get seen by the world.

That is Marasmius grandiviridis Wannathes, Desjardin & Lumyong, described from Thailand in 2009. Material from China (Yunnan Prov.) was collected by my former PhD student Dr. Ruilin Zhao in 2011 and the ITS sequences of Chinese and Thai material are identical. A really beautiful species.
Taylor Lockwood collected and photographed it with Ruilin.
