Observation 172312: Boletus illudens Peck.

Notes: These are so yellow and hardly any staining. Now after 2 days, maybe a little rusty-colored in some spots. I am not sure of this ID. In terms of smell and taste these mushrooms are not very appealing to me. They were very very firm when I harvested them and have remained reasonably firm.

I looked at the tubes only today with microscope, but as you can see from photos, the specimens are a bit old.

Not on B. subglabripes. A drop of household ammonia on a fresh cap should flash green. If not possibly B. tenax.
