I didn’t take a sample. This was a fresh young specimen; I didn’t want to cut it down. And I was already filled to capacity with other material to examine. A great day at a new spot for me near Harvey’s!

I din’t note the type of wood. But there were plenty of White Pines in the area. I think this one is schweinitzii… softish context, nondescript shape, yellow and brown, brown bruising.

I’ll soon make another schweinitzii post. I ran across a nice one at the NEMF foray.
