Medium sized bolete found under Hemlock with Pines and Spruce nearby.
Yellowish pores bruised blue, then later the pores were brownish. Context was unchanging except for the stipe base with some orangish stains

but under B. badius there was no mention of a vinaceous stain under the pilipellis; also there was no mention of the blue staining reverting to brownish. I still have the specimens and double checked them. No yellow staining of the context, though books say usually stain yellow. Too bad I didn’t have the prescence of mind to test them chemically. Had my chems with me but was in a hurry to cool off. Could not obtain a spore print.
