olivaceous tones present on interior which are not very apparent in the photo. micro forthcoming.

Substrate: unidentified decorticate wood.

Habitat: mixed deciduous + coniferous temperate rainforest, ~4500 ft.

Collectors: L. Cannon

Collected for the 2014 Fleshy Fungi of the Highlands Plateau course, taught by Andy Methven at the Highlands Biological Station in Highlands, North Carolina.

Lynx’s recollection of the spore size and shape matches, roughly, with the illustrations seen here:


two oil droplets, elongate-ellipsoid/cyllindric, etc., though Lynx claims that ours are more pointed at the ends.

danny i found an identical match this weekend that I’ve also never seen before if its not chlorosplenium. will post later.
