Notes: Growing in mixed hardwood forest under Oak and Hickory. 5% KOH gray on cap. Clean smell or none. Mild or no taste raw.

But I am not sure I am seeing the connection with a species that is normally very white with a few red dots and your mushroom that is bright red-orange. Just sayin’.

How about some close-up photos of the cap and also the section when sliced open. The sunlight makes it very hard to determine color. The margin and annulus suggest Leucoagaricus – even Lepiota. Do you remember taste, odor? What color are the gills now that it is dry?
