Myxogastria is a class within the Amoebozoa, not a genus. it is the taxonomic rank which encompasses all slime molds.

Looking at the various observations of both Fuligo septica and Myxogastria, I think what I observed fits F. septica better than Myxogastria, though to be sure the latter is a genus, not a species.
