A single specimen growing on the side of a road leading to Chatsworth Lake close to a spot where we collected X. stramineum in the past.
The flesh of this mushroom was hard, dense and heavy.
KOH & NH4OH = negative on pileipellis and flesh;
FeSO4 = faint bluish gray on pileipellis and exposed context
