be Spathularia flavida but its stem is described as smooth and this is scurfy.

then not S. velutipes. that sp. has bright orange basal mycelium

Base is indistinct and attached to mycelium.

Shown in this photo which is blurry, unfortunately. Saw a huge cluster of them later on well rotted wood which I didn’t document…time got away from me.
