Observation 174774: Ionomidotis E.J. Durand

flesh fragile. having dark reddish tones in the field when fresh, changing to olivaceous upon drying. spores white. Lynx reported a seeing a violet reaction with KOH, either in the sense of an extractable pigment or a change in tissue color at the individual cell or cell wall level, but no photomicrographs were taken. will be re-scoped soon.

Substrate: on decomposed, decorticate, moss-covered, fallen log beside the road.

Habitat: mixed deciduous + coniferous temperate rainforest, ~4500 ft.
