Observation 175114: Aureoboletus mirabilis (Murrill) Halling

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found on pithy, extremely rotten hemlock stumps in this location every fall. We have never found a fruit body so fresh and young.

Rooting stalk was over 6in. long once carefully pulled from stump substrate.

Temp: mid 40’s.

Elevation: 4500ft.
