Observation 175424: Psathyrella candolleana group

When: 2014-08-26

Collection location: Encinitas, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Jacob Kalichman (Pulk)

Specimen available

Notes:
same as obs 168666.

odor: faintly sweet from outside; a little hint of the P. bipellis “frozen orange juice”(???) smell right up in the interior of the flesh

growing both in plain dirt around the base of a stump, and in grass. Same organism, so it’s a good opportunity to look for environmental differences. Not sure what this obs shows. I have specimens, so there could be micro differences too…?

during my 2.5 hours of doing a great job capturing all these textures, a rude lady pulled up and rudely asked what I was doing. I told her and she forcefully reminded me several times that it was private property. I was clearly parked and photographing outside of the area delimited by the Private Property sign. She took down my license plate number and left. So now I’m on the lam.
