On mossy ground under hemlock—eastern white pine within 20 meters. No rain for over 2 weeks. Cap and stem bruising blackish—not a trait I could find in the references I checked though the mushroom does turn blackish when cooked.

Recognized by sight: dry red and yellow cap with fibrous tufts, yellow angular pores bruising brownish, white fibrous partial veil leaving remnants on cap and stem, yellow stem with red brown fibers below ring zone, yellow context reddening when cut, with eastern white pine
