Observation 17627: Nostoc commune
When: 2008-10-15
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Can anybody help me to find out something more about this plasmodium (if my suspect is correct)? It was fairly large, having about 1 m along its ‘long axis’ and about 2 cm (less than 1 inch) max in thickness. There was no apparent ‘front of propagation’ noticeable, more like a curly pudding of difficult to define color, on sun rays distinctly olive brown.

Lat.: 46.40460 Long.: 13.70890
Code: Bot_304/2008-4147

Substratum: on forest ground

Place: Zadnja Trenta valley, slightly NW of the last parking place, East Julian Alps, Posocje, Slovenia EC
