Found outside my yard. It is 10 inches in diameter. Anyone known what type of mushroom it is?

Looks like it has an annulus visible under the cap on the stipe.

We could start with Agaricales. But without a photo of the hymenium (spore-producing surface), anything beyond that is problematic.

Danny is right. We REALLY need to see the gills, pores, or whatever under the cap. A photo of the entire stipe (stem) would also be useful, as would a photo of the entire fungus sliced through the stipe. Use a shovel if necessary. It might be buried quite deep, garrys.
