Observation 177404: Pluteus thomsonii group

Notes: Growing on a well-rotted, mossy log in the floodplain near Platanus occidentalis, Populus deltoides, Asimina triloba, Acer negundo and Aesculus flava. Pileipellis composed of cystidioid and rounded cellular elements. At least some cheilocystidia appeared to be rostrate. Measurements of selected basidiocarps (total height x cap width): 2.2 cm x 1.7 cm, 2.1 cm x 1.8 cm, 2.8 cm x 2.4 cm, 2.1 cm x 1.6 cm, 2.7 cm x 1.5 cm, 2.5 cm x 1.7 cm

True gill edge from roman aqueduct segment mounted in phloxine. The rostrate cheilocystidia are barely visible.
