Notes: on side of old Betula; cortex K+y, apothecia scattered sessile to very slightly constricted hard to see lower cortex of apothecia, disk dark red-brown entirely epruinose convex, rims thin verrucose lacking in very young ones, epihymenium darkred-brown POL- but with chlarotera-type granules, amphithecium with thin distinct cortex and sparse large crystals and many fine granules P-, spores 8 per ascus broadly ellipsoid ~12×8um
