Notes: on sheltered side of old Betula; white thin continuous dull crust, algae trentepohlia within top layers of bark, perithecia half-raised black globose with central small ostiole, walls black laterally but not below, hymenium hyaline clear, paraphyses branched, spores 8 per ascus irregularly slanted in both directions hyaline septate smooth irregularly tear-drop-shaped to fusiform at least one end pointed septum sometimes submedian ~20×5um
