Growing from moss under birch, hemlock, pine and cedar. Cap 2 cm., yellow brown, breaking up into reddish scales over the disc, brown veil remnants at margin. Palid adnexed gills. Pallid stem, wider at base, white mycelium. Brown spore deposit—not rusty brown.
