Small, dense Lactarius fruiting from poor, sandy soil beneath Douglas fir, Western hemlock, yellow cedar and red alder.

Stem: cream colored-uniform.

Cap: deep orange and shiny with similar zonation to L. deliciosa.

Lactation: distinctly white on gills. No discoloration on stem or cap where handled.

Temp: low 70’s.

Elevation: 2700ft.
