on hardwood bark and twigs

open mixed Pinus and hardwood forest at edge of small plateau cliff

shrubby, base pale, branches slightly constricted at points of attachment, lots of annular cracks, cortex extremely thick and brittle and hard, almost no papillae, fibrcles common, isidia minute sparse single to few per tiny soralium near tips, medulla thick cheesy pinkish to reddish to whitish mottled where pigmented K+y C~y KC+o CK+o UV- P-, axis relatively thick
