Notes: on downhill side of trunk of Quercus alba 1m off ground

open oak-hickory forest on lower part of south-facing slope

white thin thallus, algae Trentepohlia, apothecia round heavily white pruinose especially around margins old ones emptying out and looking like black craters, epihymenium brownish to dark brown, hymenium faint brownish, hypothecium pale to dark brown turning greenish in K, asci broadly clavate to balloon-shaped, spores 8 per ascus (2-)3-septate macrocephalic hyaline ~16×5um
