on trunk of young Acer rubrum several feet off ground

old open oak-maple forest on west-sloping side-ridge

thallus thin greenish K+y C- KC- UV-, apothecia black disk sessile “ugly”, epihymenium brown, exciple brown, hypothecium brown, hymenium inspersed, spores ~32 per ascus 1-2-septate brownish walls oddly thickened on sides ~15-18×4.5-5um
