old open oak-maple forest on west-sloping side-ridge

thallus immersed to thin to scattered gray to olive-brown areolate, apothecia hemispherical tiny black emarginate, epihymenium brown, exciple inconspicuous, hypothecium brown, hymenium clear, spores 8 per ascus thin-walled throughout brown ~smooth ~20-25×8-10um, cortex and/or medulla K- P+o/r strong in section, apothecia K+ dingy yellow in section, cortex K+ brownish in places
