Recognized by sight: Sessile, growing on hardwood in North America.Internal context is consistent with north American G.resinaceum. Very good posting, thank you for including a cross section. Many people neglect to do that but context color and texture are some of the most important details for distinguishing Ganodermas.

Spore morphology is of the smooth resinaceum type. Consistent with G.polychromum.
