P. retifoveata is a particularly lush and handsome species, one of my favorites. And it is mostly a boreal/arctic thing, so expected – as you say – in Alaska.

as it dried, it definitely turned more of a silvery blue-green color, too.

P. retifoveata is a known species in Alaska, too, on this rather extensive lichen species list for the Kenai.

I didn’t notice that you had a specimen! Yikes, but that means you called my bluff. Now I’ll be under an obligation to come up with a name if you show me the underside… when in fact I know very little about the Peltigera of coastal Alaska! ;)
