When: 2014-04-04

Collection location: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada [Click for map]

49.9494° -97.0423°

Who: Chris Hay (hayfield)

No specimen available

Notes:
Weirdo mushroom basically like a long witch’s nose or a skirt, like an elongated stalk/ cap merged together and upside down? One of the weirdest I’ve ever seen.

Pholiota guess:
-kind of scaly on the outside cap/ stalk
-growing on wood (there’s another cluster of Pholiota in town growing very high up from another dying tree near the road, sprouting from where a branch was removed – the fbs here have persisted over the winter)
-colour/ texture/ general appearance
