Recognized by sight: If I remember right, this is quite common in southeastern Arizona,but Hypogymnia less so. Also, if you zoom in to this photo it looks like it might not be inflated (which if true would rule out Hypogymnia).

Hypogymnia, but can be other lichen. On the right hand side onbe can see a well developed specimen of Usnea strigosa group.
