Floating fen of mostly Carex aquatilis (a large sedge) and Utricularia (bladderworts). The dead graminoid it is sprouting from is probably Carex aquatilis. The mushroom is basically in a forest of these emergent sedges, growing on the dead matter floating on top. Very inaccessible (need chest waders, strong legs, good balance, and patience)

Very tiny and fragile, a few millimetres across
Cap surface kind of dimpled… like cellulite or lung tissue
Gills widely spaced and decurrent? Kind of forked and going across between each other
Mostly bright white but some pale beige tinges on top surface of caps

Species Lists

turned debris for better angle and lighting
in situ
in gloved hand, closer and slightly better lighting, note slight beige tinge on cap
