Notes: Only one specimen seen. Neither pores or cortex changed color when cut/bruised. In recently burned mixed hardwoods/pine.

Recognized by sight: The current understanding of this species includes types that exhibit no blue staining. Check the BRB account of B. pinophilus. It seems to me that eastern NA material fitting this description has been lumped in with subsaerulescens. Note the distinctly and completely reticulate stipe on the specimen seen here.
