Notes: This mushroom is growing on the underside of rotting Polyporus squamosus. The round balls are very hard and tuber like.

Hard and tuber-like? Sounds (and looks) like an Endogone, a kind of mold.
Haven’t seen anyone growing on a polypore, though..
