not certain what thing is Bill Roody and I saw in in WV a number of years ago and it was a first for me, Bill has seen it several times before but we have no good ideas.

But it’s in The Corticiaceae of North Europe if you have access to that.

I’m not saying that it is Punctularia strigoso-zonata;
just that it’s not a polypore or “Polyporales sensu lato”
