remarking on some stupid people on Facebook =)
I was under the impression that Azurescens were only found in the coastal sand dunes of the PNW. The map shows these at an elevation quite a ways inland in coniferous ground cover.
The photos showing the species alone do indeed appear to be Azurescens (thick stem, lack of overt waviness in cap), but the photos of the mature mushrooms in their habitat appear to be Cyanescens.
I am not skilled enough to determine species from the “baby pictures”.
