Recognized by sight: usually has red apothecia, but not uncommon to find specimens without… but also consider C. caroliniana and C. dimorphoclada and C. pachycladodes – the other three in FL with coarse well-branched podetia (but without red apothecia), all three are much less common than C. leporina
