Observation 181262: Boletus rubripes Thiers

Notes: Abundant flushes of these yellow, crack capped, blue staining boletus beneath Douglas fir and small mountain hemlock trees. Note the red base on mature specimens. Fruiting on the edge of a large recreation field near white pass. Readily staining blue where handled on caps and stalk.

Elevation: 4500ft.
