On well rotted stump in mixed wood—predominantly beech, oak and maple. Partial veil remnants on cap margin but no persistent ring. Brown spore deposit—not rusty brown—see fourth photo from top.

I can see now that it is more Psathyrella-like with the white stem and veil remnants on the cap margin. I guess I couldn’t see it because the cap shape/texture and spore print color reminded me of Agrocybe.
