Notes: There are multiple Cladonia spp. on the photo, which I think may include C. pyxidata and C. cervicornis. This observation refers to the one at the center-right with red apothecia.

it occurs in Portugal. It is reported from our higher mountains (Serra da Estrela), which are not far from this place, according to the reference below.
What are the alternatives, for the bright red apothecia?

I’m used to it being boreal. And with more conspicuous podetial squamules. But then, these aren’t very well-developed…
