Observation 182133: Clavaria Vaill. ex L.
When: 2014-10-09
(42.6351° -82.5001° )

Notes: coming out from the soil, some a little fluted (“holes”) and tapered a bit from bottom to top (like a folded paper cone – look closely at the out of focus part of the picture); stipe hollow when snapped in half (little hole, thick flesh)

sequenced, to be assembled and added to GenBank

From a quick Blast of 1/4 the final sequence Clavaria tenuipes was coming up as a similar hit. Later we’ll see where it comes up with the sequence fully assembled and in a tree.

Used references: “Clavaria cf. acuta” by Dr. R. Greg Thorn – from my understanding, placed the sequence in a tree curated with sequences of specimens with confident IDs
