A. citrinia f. lavendula…

At the moment, I’m inclined to think that much, or most, or all, of the material we call “citrina” in the eastern U.S. is not the European species, but citrina f. lavendula. I’ve discussed this before in various places (probably on MO, but my memory is terrible about such things). One place where you can see my current hypothesis is on the Amanita Studies web page for f. lavendula. It can be found in the species list for section Validae.
