Pink stain present on largest stipe. Other two developing pink stains on cut stipe. Pink stains fade to gray. Turquoise stain present in 2nd largest stipe.

KOH: on largest cap reddish-purple flash to orange, on largest pores rusty orange, on 2nd largest cap spotty reddish flash to orangish, on 2nd largest pores rusty orangish.

Wet area of open trail lined with small gray birch, cranberry bushes.

KOH reaction matches fairly well with holopus var. holopus as reported in BRB, but staining patterns match var. americanum.
